Outsourced Compliance Officer Services

You need the experience of a full time compliance officer. You might not need the salary. RADD steps in as your outsourced compliance officer, or backs up the one you’ve already got.

What is an outsourced compliance officer?

An outsourced compliance officer is an experienced compliance professional who works for your institution under contract instead of on payroll. They can serve as your officer of record, or work alongside the officer you already have.

RADD provides outsourced and fractional compliance officer support to banks, credit unions, and fintechs. We can act as your BSA officer of record, run your compliance program day to day, or cover a specific gap like exam prep or a leave of absence.

The seat is open, or the person in it is buried.

Hiring is slow and expensive. A qualified compliance officer is hard to find, harder to keep, and the market has priced that in. Meanwhile the exam clock keeps running.

What we hear most often

None of that means you need a full time hire tomorrow. It means you need the work covered now. We do this same BSA/AML program work every day.

We’ve sat in the chair.

RADD is a compliance and audit firm. We work with banks, credit unions, and fintechs on BSA/AML, audit services, and compliance consulting. Our people have run compliance programs from the inside. We’ve been the officer, we’ve faced the examiner, and we’ve built programs from nothing. Here’s how compliance officer outsourcing works with us.

The R.A.D.D. Compliance Confidence Framework™

You shouldn’t have to figure out where to start. Our four-step framework turns regulatory uncertainty into a clear path forward, built around your institution’s size, business lines, and risk profile.

Reveal Risks

We uncover the regulatory gaps, operational risks, and audit vulnerabilities specific to your institution through a proactive compliance assessment, before an examiner finds them first.

Align & Analyze

We benchmark your current compliance posture against examiner expectations and board priorities, including emerging risks like crypto, fintech partnerships, IT compliance, and privacy laws (CCPA/GLBA).

Design Your Compliance Roadmap

You get a customized, board-ready roadmap with priorities, timelines, resource recommendations, and predictive strategies to eliminate future findings, not just the ones you already know about.

Deliver & Defend

We execute the roadmap alongside your team, through tailored audit engagements or our RADD Assist subscription, and stand with you in front of examiners, the audit committee, and the board.

Outsourced and fractional compliance officer coverage

The work around the seat

What makes us different

We’re practitioners, not just advisors. Our people have held the officer seat. The advice reflects that, and so does the paperwork we leave behind.

We scale up and down. A full outsourced officer, a few days a month, or one project. We size it to your risk and your budget, not to a package.

We know the fintech side. Most compliance shops stop at the traditional program. We already run fintech compliance work, so when a partnership shows up we’re not learning on your dime.

Banks, credit unions, and fintechs.

Community and regional banks. From de novo through multi billion dollar institutions. FDICIA, SOX, BSA/AML, and exam prep.

Credit unions. NCUA exams, CUSO oversight, and BSA officer support. See our credit union compliance page.

Fintechs and sponsor bank programs. If you’re a fintech looking for a partner bank, or a bank taking on fintech partners, we cover both sides.

Questions we get about outsourcing compliance.

Yes. Regulators allow an institution to use an outside party for the compliance officer function. What can’t be outsourced is the board’s responsibility for oversight. We work inside that line, and we document it so an examiner can see it.

It depends on scope. Full officer of record coverage costs more than a few days a month, and both cost less than a bad hire. We’ll quote it after a short call about your size, your risk, and what you need covered.

Less than a full time salary and benefits, and you only pay for the days you use. Most fractional arrangements land between a project fee and a part time salary.

Yes, routinely. It’s most common when the seat is open, when the institution is too small to justify a full time officer, or when a project like exam prep or a program rebuild needs experience the internal team doesn’t have.

Yes. We serve as outsourced BSA officer for banks, credit unions, and fintechs. Some clients name us as the officer. Others keep their officer and use us as backup, so one person isn’t the only one who knows the program.

The person needs the experience and the authority to do the job, and the board needs to formally appoint and oversee them. There has to be a written agreement, defined reporting, and evidence the board is actually receiving and acting on that reporting.

Yes. NCUA exams, CUSO oversight, and BSA officer support. Our credit union compliance page covers that side in detail.

Yes. Sponsor bank oversight, partner program compliance, and BSA/AML for fintechs directly.

Usually within a couple of weeks. Interim and leave coverage moves faster when it has to.

Yes. Short term interim coverage is one of the most common reasons institutions call us. We hold the program together and hand it back documented.

That’s fine, and it’s common. We cover the seat while you search, and we hand over a program in better shape than we found it.

Mostly yes. Virtual, outsourced, fractional, and part time compliance officer all describe the same idea. What matters is scope, authority, and whether the person has done the job before.

Let’s talk about covering the seat.
